The new escape room is OPEN!

Our new room is NOW open!  BOOK HERE.  Here are some quick FAQ's we have been getting.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us anytime.   We look forward to seeing all of our returning guests, as well as all our new guests.

Q:  Is it a different themed escape room?
A:  The Locked Inn, will always be the Locked Inn.   You will be checking into a new room this time, and exploring new areas.  

Q: So do you have two rooms now?
A:  No, the original room is now closed.   Thank you for everyone who made it a fun success.   We currently have one room running, make sure to check it out before it changes again, don't wait!

Q: When will we be changing the room again?
A:  We don't have an exact answer yet, but we do have plans.   Keep checking back, and make sure to tell as many people as possible to visit our current room so they don't miss out.

Q: Where is the new room?
A:  750 Farroll Road, Suite C in Grover Beach.   Please note, we are open by reservation only.  So make sure to book a time, or call before heading over.

UPDATE: The Locked Inn New Escape Room!

Before we give an update, we need to say, THANK YOU!   Thank you to all of our previous, and future guests.    We built our original room just for fun, to see what was possible.   It is because of all of you, that we are able to grow the room, and offer new games and challenges.   We are truly humbled by your kind feedback, reviews, and support.   We hope you will enjoy what we are creating for you next.

We've had to push the opening back further than expected, due to circumstances beyond our control.   But that's great news, because it's giving us a little more time to really create something special for you.

We've slated the public opening of the new room for the first weekend in June.   We plan to open up the booking system for the new room in mid-May.

Guests who have attended our current room, will have the first chance at booking the new room.  We will send out emails, and post to Facebook when the booking system for the new room is open.

Returning guests will also have the chance to select our upgraded play package at a discount price.   More details to come about this package, but it's an extended experience with some fun extras.

Here are some  FAQ's about the new room:

Q:  Is it scary?
A:  No, this room will not be scary!   At least, not until Halloween.   The new room will be converted into a scare escape during the month of October.

Q:  Where is it?
A:  Grover Beach!

Q: What is the Theme of the new escape room?
A:  The Locked Inn.  That will always be our main theme.   This offers a consistent game playing experience, but with new scenarios.  You will be checking-in, but what new room will you be checked-in to?  What new areas of The Locked Inn will you explore?  You'll have to join us to find out.

Q: Will you have multiple rooms?
A:  Yes, but not right away.   But we will continuously be working to add new sections and levels after we open the new room.   When you visit the new room, you will get more details about future escape room plans.

Q: Will it be difficult?
A:  We plan to offer levels of difficulty, from easy to hard.

Q: Will your current room stay open?
A: No.  Our current room will close when the new room opens.   The current room will run through the last weekend in May.   Please tell any friends and family that have not been to the current room, to go soon!  We want to share that room with as many people as possible before we have to close it.

It sounds scary, like that movie "SAW"!

The number one question we get?  Is it scary?  Usually followed by, "It sounds like that movie SAW."   Similar to that movie, you do have to find clues and figure out how to escape.  But that's about where the similarities end.

The simple answer is NO, it's not really "scary".  There are several Escape Rooms around the world that focus on a scary theme.  But our current San Luis Obispo County escape room is not a horror theme!  And this is NOT a haunted house type attraction.  While we do have future plans for Central Coast escape rooms with a scary theme, the current room is not scary.  

"Will I be scared?"   We find that people are generally a little nervous to start out.   That's mostly just fear of the unknown.   There are a few elements of the escape room that may take you out of your comfort zone.   But overall, our guests find the room to be more of a fun, mysterious challenge.   There are no monsters that will jump out at you.   At least not in this version of The Locked Inn (stay tuned for future rooms that will have different themes).

Is it Easy to Escape this Grover Beach Escape Room?

The simple answer…NO!   In fact, most teams will not escape the first time.   It's designed that way!  If it was too easy, everyone would escape, fast.   And we want you to really enjoy the room, play the puzzles, find clues, and really get absorbed into the fantasy world of Escape Rooms.

The team above was our FIRST (and only at the time of this blog) group to escape in under 60 minutes, with no additional clues.  It was a very exciting game, they exited just 7 seconds before the final buzzer.  What does it take to escape the room?  Teamwork, and communication.  

We love the competitive spirit of our guests.   But really, this is not all about competition.  We want groups to try this SLO escape room, and we truly want guests to just enjoy the thrill of trying to escape.  So even though most groups will not escape on the first visit, every guest we've had absolutely loves the escape room experience.

An Escape Room in SLO County, Open to the public!

The Locked Inn is San Luis Obispo County's first escape room that is fully open to the public.  This escape room will get your heart pumping and your brain racing. Escape Rooms are one of the most popular mobile game apps available, and now you can experience this type of game, live!  Much more than a game, this is an immersive entertainment experience, where YOU are the main character.   

When you arrive at The Locked Inn, we will explain how the game works to our current story…and then you will be LOCKED in to our escape room. Along with a group of your friends, you will be given a certain amount of time to escape the room.   Search for hints, you will find clues hidden around the room.   As the clock ticks down, your group will work quickly at piecing together the clues, and ultimately trying to escape to freedom!
